Traction and cornering are excellent on the hardpack, dust, and rocks. Mud release is average, as is rolling resistance. I've run this tire with Stans and haven't had any flats, and only a few weep holes after about 400 miles. Wear resistance is very good.

GREAT grip. You can rail corners. Def faster rolling than the Nevegal BUT not crazy fast. The 2.35 LUST (UST) is heavy for XC. Go with the 2.1 if you are worried about weight. Best suite for more agg XC/Trail or 29er.
